I’m a big fan of the games by Maxis, The Sims and The Sims2. I’m going to do some posting here and there about The Sims2.
Today I just realized that most of the stuff I’ve downloaded that was missing files was due to the fact that I am a moron and don’t always read everything I should. I was slowly becoming good at recognizing files and what they did in game for the first sims when sims2 came out. I didn’t read up on it as well as I should, thinking it’d work like the first one… Well, I’ve been playing sims2 since a year after it came out, and now I finally realized what I’ve been doing wrong. *red in the face*
Moral of the story: Read up on all the FAQ when you’ve got something new.
Sims3 is due to come out sometime soon… I don’t think I’m ready for that just yet. I still haven’t done enough with the sims2 to give up on that yet. Plus, I don’t think my poor computer could run the sims3 without problems. I was told it’s supposed to be sort of a fluid neighborhood without loading screens. I don’t know how true that is, but it sounds painful for my videocard. LOL
Some of the best downloads sites I’ve found are:
www.thesimsresource.com — Free and Subscriber content, I think the subscription is $8 a month or submit content for others to download.
They do in-game contests where you download a little tool, then their package file for the contest. You complete the “quest” and the tool tells TSR that you completed it.
http://www.sironasims.com/ — Free! absolutely gorgeous skin tones!!!! (and the cutest elf I’ve ever seen who reminds me of Tumnus the fawn)
www.inbeatz.com — Free
http://www.lianasims2.net/index.php– mostly free content, has donation section
