A Spring-ey Little Cocktail for Your Gray Matter

What is Time to a Pig?

October 30, 2008 · Leave a Comment

I was reading the wonderful Havi this morning, and she improved my  mood, as much as you can improve with a brain ache that interrupts every thought you have.

She’s talking about time management this week.  You really should go read the post.  I’ll put in a tidbit, but then you have to promise to go read the rest.  It’s really insightful.

Three farmers are hanging out discussing their pig feeding techniques, as farmers like to do.

The first brags that his technique is the best: he lets his pig root around under the apple tree and eat old apples that have fallen to the ground. The second one says that actually his technique is better. What he does is take a stick to knock down apples from the tree for the pig to feed on.

But the third farmer is able to completely out-do both of the others. What he does, he explains, is to pick up the pig and hold it up to the tree at apple level so the pig can eat apples to his heart’s content.

The first two farmers are appalled. Isn’t that unbelievably time-consuming?

The third farmer looks at them and says, “Yeah, but what’s time to a pig?”

Novel Subjects and Nonsense

Isn’t Disneyland a people trap operated by a mouse?

I just thought that was kind of funny…. It was on my “things to ponder” on iGoogle.

This picture I found is Disney Hotel workers protesting… I thought it very fitting.  =)

And what is up with wordpress, my options to format are appearing and disappearing every time I log on…. I guess I’ll have to quit being so lazy and use HTML.  I’d rather not, but that’s just because I’m lazy.  *sigh*

I’m fairly stoked for writing in NaNoWriMo.  I just can’t think of what I want to write my novel about.  I’m currently reading Kushiel’s Avatar, which is part of the Kushiel’s Legacy series by Jacqueline Carey.  I’m fairly certain my novel will end up taking on a feel of that.  The books are set sometime from Medieval to Renaissance… I’m not sure exactly where because it is purely fictional and my geography from that time period is off.

This post originally started yesterday, I just never published it.  I can’t remember why…. I’ve got a deep brain ache going, and if my boss didn’t need me here while he was at a seminar, I would not have come in today.  I can’t concentrate on much, and I think I’m going to ask to go home after he returns.

Maybe I’ll write my novel about Max.  I think that would be an appropriate subject.  Whether I’ll write about the present, or the future, I don’t know.

Someone stop the brain throbbing please?
